Compare one source and translation
日本語版はこちらPaste a source line and its translation. The page lists the placeholders it found on each side, runs the same checks as the CSV checker on this one pair — missing or invented placeholders, unbalanced tags, source left untranslated, a character limit — and explains each finding.
- Placeholders present in the source but gone from the translation, and ones the translation invented
- {curly}, {{double}}, ${dollar}, printf %s / %1$d, {0} .NET-style and [square] syntaxes, found automatically
- Fullwidth braces { } and case changes such as {playerName} → {playername}
- Tag pairs such as <b>…</b> or <color=…>…</color> opened but never closed in the translation
- A translation identical to the source, or left empty
- Translation length against a character limit you type in — counted the way the engine counts it
One pair, same engine
This is the row-level check from the free CSV checker, without the CSV. It runs the identical rule engine the signed-in product uses, so a pair that passes here passes there. It exists because the question usually arrives one string at a time — a tester's screenshot, a bug report with one line of dialogue, a translator asking whether a sentence is safe — and nobody wants to build a file to answer it.
What counts as a placeholder
Six syntaxes are recognised and matched as a multiset: name and count both have to agree. {count} twice in the source needs {count} twice in the translation; {Count} is a different placeholder from {count}; a fullwidth {count} is not a placeholder at all, which is exactly the point — it is what the player will see on screen. Positional printf arguments (%1$s) are compared by position, so reordering them to suit the target language's word order is fine as long as every one is still there.
What it does not judge
Meaning, tone, honorifics and whether the translation is any good are not mechanical questions and are not checked here. The free tools answer "will this break?"; the account version adds an AI review for "is this right?" and tracks which issues are new since the last check across a whole project.
